What supports are there for men experiencing domestic abuse?

While Cuanlee only offer support to women and children experiencing domestic abuse, there are a number of similar support services for men. Men, like women, are entitled to feel safe in their relationships and in their homes. Avenues laid out by Irish legislation strive to protect anyone experiencing domestic abuse, regardless of gender. The following are a list of organisations that can assist men who are experiencing domestic abuse:

 

  • One Stop Shop (OSS) in Cork provides practical and emotional support for  men experiencing domestic abuse.  Helpline: 021-422 2979
  • AnyMan is a dedicated national support service for men experiencing domestic abuse, providing support and information. National Support Line: 01-5543811 www.anyman.ie
  • Men’s Development Network, Male Advice Line, provide advice and support for male victims of domestic abuse. This service is also open to family and friends who have a concern for a loved one, seeking guidance and support. Advice Line: 1800 816 588/ 051-844260 www.mens-network.net
  • Cork Sexual Assault Unit provides a 24hr support service for man and women over the age of 14. Psychological support workers are available to all who avail of this service.
